Scott Benson has engineered music recording sessions for many internationally
acclaimed artists, including San Francisco's Afiara String Quartet, Russia's
Rusquartet, Ireland's Caoimhin O Raghallaigh, and Ronald Leonard, former
principal cellist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Scott was the recipient of
the 2009 MusiCounts Award for Outstanding Achievement in Recording Arts
and Sciences, presented by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and
Sciences.
Scott has completed work alongside top industry producers including Husky Huskolds (Norah Jones), Steve Albini (Nirvana),
Mark Wilsher (Lord of the Rings), and Howard Billerman (Arcade Fire). In 2010, Scott worked with the
Vancouver band Brasstronaut on their Mount Chimaera recording, which went on to be selected for the
Polaris Prize long list.
Scott has participated in audio research projects for Stanford
University/Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics, The Banff
Centre, and the University of Calgary.
